INSHELL HAZELNUT
Inshell hazelnuts are the natural, unprocessed form of the hazelnut (Corylus avellana), carefully harvested and sun-dried to preserve their rich flavor, aroma, and nutritional value. Grown primarily in the fertile regions of Turkey — the world’s leading producer — these nuts are renowned for their high oil content, crisp texture, and consistent quality. After harvesting, the green husks are removed, and the nuts are thoroughly dried under controlled conditions to achieve an optimal moisture level of around 6%, ensuring long shelf life and excellent taste retention.
Available in a range of calibers such as 14–16 mm, 16–18 mm, 18–20 mm, and 20–22 mm (or customized per buyer request), inshell hazelnuts are graded and sorted according to international quality standards, including EU and FDA regulations. Each batch undergoes visual inspection and mechanical calibration to guarantee uniform sizing and purity. The hard, protective shell safeguards the kernel inside, maintaining its natural freshness and preventing oxidation during transport and storage.
Applications and Markets: Inshell hazelnuts are widely consumed as a nutritious snack and are also used in food processing, roasting, and confectionery industries after shelling. Rich in healthy fats, protein, and antioxidants, they appeal to both retail and industrial markets focused on natural and premium-quality products. With strong demand across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, Turkish inshell hazelnuts remain a top choice for importers seeking consistent flavor, calibrated sizing, and reliable year-round supply.
